What is Social Cinema CLE?

Social Cinema CLE = Your favorite films along with local brews, wine, and food trucks— all under a summer night sky. Think of it as a picnic at night with your friends, a dj's curated playlist, and some of the best food, drinks & vibes that Cleveland has to offer.

Why "CLE"?

Each event highlights elements that make Cleveland great. We feature rotating Ohio craft breweries & local food trucks, all in front of the beautiful Cleveland skyline.

Where is Social Cinema?

Social Cinema is at the Great Lakes Science Center (601 Erieside Ave, Cleveland, OH 44114)

Is there an age minimum?

Yes, attendees must be 21+ and will be required to present a valid ID at entry

How does entry work?

After purchasing your ticket online, you can choose to print your ticket at home and bring it or download your ticket QR code on your smartphone to be scanned at the gate for admission. Make sure to download or screenshot your QR code and have your phone’s brightness turned all the way up before you get to the entry gate. One admission per one ticket. First-come first-served seating once inside Social Cinema.

What is the typical Social Cinema schedule?

7:00pm – Season Pass Gates Open. Food Truck & Bar opens
7:30pm – General Admission Gates Open
Around Sundown (~ 9pm) – Featured Film Screening (this time may fluctuate)
30 Min before Film End - Last call for Food & Beverages
11:00pm — Social Cinema Closes

Can I leave & come back?

No, there is no re-entry. Please make sure you have everything you need and parking meters are filled, etc.

Will food & drink be available inside for purchase?

Absolutely, each screening we’ll feature a different array of local breweries, wine, and food trucks. We do our best to keep all options affordable and meet various dietary needs. If you have suggestions for vendors please email contact@socialcinemacle.com.

2. Ticket & Season Pass Questions

What is the difference between a ticket & season pass?

Ticket = Access to Single Event

Season Pass = Access to Entire Regular Season.

What is included in a Season Pass?

A Social Cinema season pass includes:

  • Admission to all Regular Season Social Cinema events (at a discount)
  • Early Entry for Priority Access to Seating Area, Bar & Food Trucks
  • Voting on future Movies

Are tickets available at the door?

No, tickets to each event are limited in quantity and must be purchased online. Events often completely sell out in advance, so it's best to secure your tickets early before they run out. On the rare occasion there are tickets available the day of the event, they should be purchased online before arriving at the gate. 

Can I get a refund for my ticket or season pass?

Refunds are not available. You can sell or give your ticket or season pass to anyone over the age of 21.

Are tickets/season passes transferrable?

Yes. The names on the tickets & season passes do not need to match the ticket holder, so long as the individual is 21+ and up & has proper ID at the gate.

3. Weather & Reschedule Questions

What happens if there is inclement weather?

This is an outdoor event and when possible the event will go on rain or shine. The Social Cinema team continually monitors the weather and forecast and in the event of significant inclement weather or forecasts, Social Cinema  may choose to postpone or reschedule the event. Ticket Holders will be notified of a cancellation/reschedule as soon as possible via social media, SMS and email.

How do reschedules work?

In the event of a cancellation/reschedule ticket holders will be notified of the new date via email, social media & on the website as soon as possible. Purchased tickets will automatically be valid for the new date (you do not need to do anything). No refunds or transfers are available, if you are unable to attend the new date you are welcome to give or sell your ticket to anyone over 21.

4. Suggested & Prohibited Items

What should I bring?

Bring blankets, pillows, or chairs that have a low back. A small tarp or sheet underneath your blanket is suggested. Beer, wine and food will be available for purchase inside gates. NightLight is a cashless event; we accept all major forms of credit card. You may bring disposable, clear, sealed plastic bottles of unflavored water. Water bottles are also available for purchase.

What should I NOT bring?

🚫  No Tents or Umbrellas

🚫  No Speakers or other items likely to disrupt the experience of others

🚫  No Candles, barbecues or open flames

🚫  No Weapons (firearms, large pocket knives, tasers etc.)

🚫  No Pets

🚫  No Smoking/vaping (you will be permitted to enter with legal tobacco/vape products in your bag but smoking/vaping is not permitted within the event grounds)

Are bags checked at the door?

All bags will be inspected at the door and any prohibited items will be not be permitted to enter the grounds.

Are pets allowed at Social Cinema?

Although we love pets, in order to protect safety and the movie experience, Pets and emotional support animals are NOT permitted within Social Cinema.

4. Accessibility

Is Social Cinema wheelchair accessible? 

We reserve a small section for wheelchair users each week but we can make additional accommodations as needed. You can send us an email at: contact@socialcinemacle.com with any specific questions.

Are closed captions available?

Traditional closed captioning devices used in permanent theaters don't work in an outdoor pop-up setting. We recommend the use of the app Subtitles Viewer! available on iOS and android devices. Using this app you can download the subtitles in advance and sync them with the start of the movie/dialogue. If you would like assistance syncing to the start of the film let our staff at the bar know on arrival.
